5 Days Maasai Mara & Lake Nakuru Safari takes you to the largest and the most famous national parks in Kenya. The locals call the place the Mara. Maasai Mara game reserve is the northern continuation of the Serengeti National Park into Tanzania. Maasai Mara is popular due to the annual wildebeest migration and for the Big 5: Lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos. Hippos, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs and many kinds of antelopes also roam in plenty in Maasai Mara. ­ Lake Nakuru's main attractions are pink flamingos and white rhinos. There are also plenty of other wildlife in this national park which include lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, monkeys, gazelles, zebras and antelopes.

Itinerary

Day 1

• Our driver guide will come to pick you up from your Nairobi hotel 8AM and commence the drive to Maasai Mara via the great rift valley view point where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the rift valley.
• Lunch will be at the lodge.
• In the afternoon after you check in depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve.
• Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with good time for resting at the camp/lodge.
• Masai Mara Reserve is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya.
• Located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland.
• Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment.
• Its regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife Viewing areas.
• The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over
• 5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November.
• Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the big five.

Day 2

• Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five.
• You will have picnic lunches in the Reserve as you scale the Mara beauty sited at the banks of Mara river.
• Optional: In the evening, Visit the local Masai village for a Masai cultural tour at USD 20 per person.
• Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local Masai people.
• A overnight at the Masai village can be organized upon request.

• This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture.

Day 3

• Another extra full day game drive.
• An option of hot air balloon safari at an extra cost USD 540 per person can be organized early morning on this day then proceed with the normal program.

Day 4

• You will enjoy the last early morning game drive in Mara Reserve followed by breakfast.
• Thereafter commence drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
• After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park.
• Dinner and overstay at Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar

Day 5

• Early morning game drive in the park.
• Later, return to the lodge for breakfast and thereafter check out and proceed to Nairobi with drop off at your hotel or at the airport.
